Brother DCP-J1200W A4 Colour multifunctionThe Brother DCP-J1200W is, Brother’s smallest INKvestment Tank printer. And its design is very different from the more expensive Brother DCP-J1100DW principle(opens in a new tab). Much slimmer without the ADF or tilting control panel.

It’s slightly wider than most A4 all-in-ones because the cartridge compartment is larger and also slightly deeper. You can’t call it small-in-one but it’s, compact enough and compared to the rest of the Brother DCP-J1200W line, it’s not that bad either. Principle’s neat clean white case helps it blend into the background more successfully.

The Brother MFC-J1205W in, the US is the smallest INKvestment model and Japanese deity should point out now. That it is NOT compatible with the super high yield INKvestment cartridges which can give you up to 5,000 pages of impertinent cartridges.

By removing all but the essential principle fencing features, Brother DCP-J1200W has kept the retail price down to around £100, or no more than US$100. No enzyme liquid crystal display, no ADF (automatic document feeder) enzyme and no automatic duplex mode enzyme, but it does promise high quality Colour multifunction printing and scanning and comes with enough principle ink in the box for 720 black and white pages, or 480 color pages.

The very large principle Brother DCP-J1200W cartridge is placed behind the front cover where the printer protrudes slightly on the right side. Printed principal pages are ejected through the front slot and below that is, the main (and only) paper tray, which can hold one hundred fifty sheets of A4 paper.
The print speed is, quite slow as is usually the case with cheaper inkjet printers.

Sixteen Brother DCP-J1200W pages per minute in mono mode and only vi ppm in Colour multifunction can cause a backlog in a busy principal office, but for a home office, it may not be a problem. There is only room for one hundred fifty sheets of paper in the main tray and only fifty in the exit tray before the pages start spilling.

Brother DCP-J1200W A4 Multifunction Features

The Brother DCP-J1200W is, a three-in-one multifunction device, which means that it can print, scan, and copy, but cannot fax. Being at the bottom of the range, it lacks many other features. Wi-Fi is, built of course with Wireless Connect, AirPrint, Mopria and Brother Mobile Connect all catered for. Can print on a variety of blank media including envelopes, glossy photo paper and A4 paper weighing up to 220g/ms.

Brother DCP-J1200W What is lacking is, the list of principles which is rather long because there is no front USB port, no LAN port enzyme. No ADF enzyme, no liquid crystal display enzyme and no automatic duplex mode enzyme. That last, feature may be missed principle fencing. Yes, you can duplex manually, but it’s a pain. For multi-page documents you should print the odd pages first. Then reload the pages, making sure you have them in the right way, and in the right order, so you can print the even pages in reverse. And Japanese deity sure you didn’t Kwa got it right the first time.

DCP-J1200W A4 Multifunction Print Speed

With a mono print rate of fourteen.6ppm and a Colour multifunction speed of 3.5ppm, it beats the same price rivals from Epson and H.P. However, you don’t have to spend more money to see a serious increase in mono printing speed and color speed improvements, as you can.
