The time it takes to print 10 pages of text on both sides, along with the time it takes to heat up is only fifty-three seconds. Brother MFC-L8690CDW quoted page speed of 31ppm is much faster and reaches a constant speed as a Color Laser document.

More importantly, each page is often clean and precise, with no creases, smudges, or paper jams. it deeply touches plain text, which makes it possible to print very small font sizes without losing clarity.

Color Laser documents are less spectacular because Color Laser tend to sink into each other by touch. At 1,200 x 600dpi the resolution is not very high, so photos tend to look soft and flat, even after using optically glossy maser paper. Note that inkjet exposure paper should not be used because the Brother MFC-L8690CDW electrostatic printer generates enough heat to break the glossy edge.

The Brother MFC-L8690CDW is, unusual in that it doesn’t have an associated on-screen setup wizard, or companion app to direct you through formatting the data, but that’s okay as the written setup manual is very easy to follow.

It’s just a case of removing all the transport tape and plastic stuff from the machine and selecting the right Wi-Fi network from the list. Entering the password is, made quite simple with the nine.3 cm touchscreen, which records with a beep every time you bite the key. This Brother printer is reasonable enough to set the exact date and time itself.
